07-15-11 – Boston, MA>Hartford, CT – I am looking for a guitar player to, well, sit around and play some songs with. I’m not really trying to start a band or go on tour…although if we eventually got a set together I would love to play some local shows. I play guitar quite a bit but none of my practice is directed. I’d like to meet up with some people once or twice a week, learn a new song between each session or meeting, and just play.
For instance, I have a Real Book, we can pick a few songs out each week…one person learns the chord changes and one person takes the melody. We could do this with any song really
I’m 26 and in a professional graduate program (hence I can’t really be a rockstar). During my undergrad I played a lot of funk bass and listened to a lot of Primus (at the time, this heavily influenced my playing, but I’ve definitely calmed down since then). After college I moved to Boston and picked up guitar and have been playing it on and off ever since.
I’m not really an “educated guitar player” but I am by no means talentless. My pitch isn’t perfect but if you show me what chords you are playing I should be able to pick it up with some practice.
