07-10-11 – Dallas, TX>Austin, TX – I am the guitarist in a local band but one of my members is not concerned with recording or writing new material. This has been going on for a long time and now I’m just ready to begin something fresh.
I am searching for a vocalist to start working with. I DO NOT want to work with a trendcore screamer vocalist that doesn’t understand how to write vocal melodies and cannot sing. My favorite music is aggressive melancholy music with strong vocal melody.
I like the vocals on albums like Brand New’s The Devil and God Are Raging… and AFI’s Sing the Sorrow and Sunny Day Real Estate’s Diary album. Other bands I like but may or may not have my fav vocals but are good enough for me to still love are: at the drive in(relationship and vaya), mastodon(crack the skye), nirvana, thrice, soundgarden(superunknown, badmoto), thursday,radiohead(ok comp.), smashing pumpkins 90′s, the mars volta, deftones, sparta, black sabbath, tool(einima), glassjaw(eyewtkas), 90′s pearl jam, 80′s metallica.
Again I’m up for anything though EXCEPT for trendcore screaming stuff like bands on rise records like devil wears prada shit. And obviously not country. I also don’t play shit like Seether or other bands like that. I wanna play heavy shit without being unintelligent or a trendy fucker and the bands I like were able to accomplish that.
