03-05-11 – New York City, NY>Philadelphia, PA – We are looking for a lead guitarist. Original songs / mixed with a few covers to fill out set lists. Concentration on relatively simple though dynamic music/arrangements, strong vocals, harmonies, songwriting. Execution rather than excess.
Musical Tastes and Influences include, among others: Blues, Early Rock N Roll, Motown, British Rock, Chuck Berry, Elmore James, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Smokey Robinson, The Shirelles, Motown.
Preferred guitar style—ability to play bluesy lead along the lines of a Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Elmore James. Rhythmic, energetic. Versatility and creativity a plus, to play ballads, various styles, not always straight blues based. Sometimes jazzy, etc. Composed solos standard, sometimes of the vocal melody, riffs, etc among duties.
Unique sound and style appreciated, though very important to fit into the established feel of songs, and to add tasteful, subtle embellishment when not soloing.
Band operates professionally. Shows At Least once every weekend. Practice and/or performance three times a week.
Looking for someone with a professional attitude and who is reliable and punctual. Most importantly – time and commitment, and a desire to make the music excellent.
