08-08-11 – Seattle, WA>Portland, OR – Want to create a dream poppy trio and perform some songs I’ve written and write new ones. Think Beach House, Blonde Redhead, Elliott Smith, Beatles, Grandaddy. Want a synth/keys player and a drummer, preferably around my age.
Me: 27 yr old, play guitar/keys/sing. I write and record a lot of stuff. I want to get a trio going to play some of the things I’ve written, write new stuff, and play. I will post links to some of the songs I’d want to play at the end of this, but I don’t necessarily want this project to sound exactly like the recordings. I’d want to see how we can play these songs, and create more, with a three piece.
Need: Synth/keys player, bonus points for vocal ability. Knowledge of chord structure and a good ear are major plusses. You would be playing a lot of chordal/pad type stuff, and it would be awesome if you could handle bass duties as well with multiple synths or a split synth.
Need: Drummer- I don’t know much about drumming, but I know that I really love what the Blonde Redhead drummer does. If you could do stuff like that, it would be awesome, but mostly, you just have to want to play and practice.
