08-04-11 – San Francisco, CA>Reno, NV – I am looking for a comparable singer and vocalist ( metal )
Gender isnt an issue for me, male or female. If you can sing I would love a chance to hear you.
Requirments: For Singers
Willingness to take the time to craft music and vocal melodies that will help define the “greater picture” of the bands sound.
Previous music ability is a serious plus ( Choir, school band, private lessons) and some theory would be great as well.
A well rounded vocal range ( it doesn’t have to cover a 8 octaves…)
For both: Be comfortable with your range and have the ability to support and carry notes. Have the ability to know when you are out of key or off from the given chords or notes you are singing over.
You don’t have to draw influences from just metal, you could be a jazz singer and just as welcome in my eyes as if you were a rock singer.
For guys: High singing is cool… but Ideally if you can expand the mid to lower range so it doesn’t sound like a skylit drive all the time, that would be great. ( not to say I dont enjoy ASLD)
For girls: Be comfortable with a little belting of notes. NOT so much looking for that drawn out soft Amy Lee quality..
Please, no hard drugs or heavy drinking before or during practice. I would like to be a coherent band.
Requirements for Vocalist: Be able to support and project them. No eating the microphone. Its not flattering for the quality of the screams.
Being able to go from a hardcore style yell to full on screams are a plus.
