This sophisticated and witty farce is probably the most famous of all comedies. Its brilliant yet gentle attack upon the Victorian establishment is loved by audiences of every generation. The plot revolves around the most ingenious case of “manufactured” mistaken identity ever put in a play. Dashing men-about-town John Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff pursue fair ladies Gwendolyn Fairfax and Cecily Cardew. Matters are complicated by the imaginary characters invented by both men to cover their on-the-sly activities – not to mention the disapproval of Gwendolyn’s mother, the formidable Lady Bracknell.
Rehearsals will be Monday – Thursday nights 7:30 – 10:00 p.m.
