Judy Taylor is the VP of Casting and Talent Relations for the Disney Channel. When Judy was casting for High School Musical, all of the actors and actresses were already working actors but did not have their big break yet. Zac Efron had done an arc on Summerland and had actually done a pilot for the Disney Channel previously to getting casted on High School Musical.
