11-17-11 – Boston, MA>Hartford, CT – Attention bands:
The Local Music Scene is a monthly television show on Local Access Cable, The Needham Channel, where rock bands are getting free exposure on cable and on Youtube.
Each episode is aired multiple times throughout the month on Channel 9 for Comcast subscribers, 15 for RCN and 29 for Verizon.
I will also provide two copies of the DVD to each band.
I prefer rock bands but I am open to other genres as long as the lyrics are original and tasteful for television.
No Cover bands allowed due to licensing laws, LYRICS MUST BE ORIGINAL!!! Also bands need to have at least two years experience playing out live.
We have currently aired 14 episodes and we are looking for more. Every month we seek out a new band to perform 4-6 original songs and be interviewed.
Some productions are held at the Needham Channel studio at 257 Chestnut St.
across from Dunkin Donuts but more recent productions have been recorded live
at the venue the band is performing at and interviews are conducted before the show at the venue as well. I prefer taping bands live because it’s a more natural look, its also an easier set up and bands are not confined to dates that I am available in the studio. instead I can come to them, provided the venue they are playing at allows for recordings.
This is a mass mailing so it will be first come first serve. I will only be picking one band this month to record playing live,
However if you are not picked to be recorded this month please stay in contact with me for future months.
So to recap if your band is playing a show this month at a local venue near Needham
and you would like to be video taped for exposure on TV and youtube,
if you fit the criteria listed above
and if the venue you are playing at will allow me to video tape you
then please contact me and if I like what I see and hear I will be in touch with you.
If you don’t hear from me stay in touch because I may be in touch with you the following month.
I am more likely to pick you if you are an opening band, earlier the better.
