12-31-10 – Chicago, IL>Milwaukee, WI – I am looking to assemble a touring bluegrass band. The sound that I am looking for is a somewhat progressive band. I play fiddle. I am in need of a banjo, guitar, bass, and mandolin player. The banjo player should be able to play advanced intricate pieces similar to songs by Bela Fleck, Scott Vestal, or Tony Trischka . Guitar player needs to be able to follow some “non-standard” bluegrass pieces with all the correct cords. They also need to be able to take leads. The bass needs to be upright, not bass guitar. There wont be many bass leads, but the bass should be able to provide strong backup. The mandolin player needs to be able to take leads besides rhythm. As far as vocals, I would like for the musicans to be able to sing. Have at least one lead vocalist, but I want this band to be more instrumental than vocal.
If I can get a group together, we will be able to record an album immediately.
Band Rules:
1. Be willing to travel and do shows. 2. Be at least 30 minutes early to all shows. Thats it!
Influences and albums SOME of the repritoior will come from:
Bela Fleck-Bluegrass Sessions, Drive
Psychograss

12-20-10 – Boston, MA>Portland, ME – Seeking:
versatile percussionist
Oud, Jamboosh or other Eastern stringed instrument
Influences: Bela Fleck, Jeff Buckley, Jack Johnson, Mumford and Sons, Kings of Leon, Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, Elliot Smith, Tony Rice, Ravi Shankar, Tom Waits … etc.
I’m a rhythm guitarist and singer/songwriter looking to start up a band. My guitar style ranges from Jazz, Flamenco, Folk, alternative, experimental. I sing and write decent lyrics. I’m looking for another experimental and dynamic guitarist to play leads and to collaborate with on ideas. Also looking for a percussionist/drummer… preferably one that doesn’t mind playing with brushes, congas, and not just a loud drum kit… Less would be more for this project in the percussion, nevertheless percussion is essential. And of course if there is any upright bass player or electric bass player interested please contact as well. Other then that, if there is any players out there that play such eastern instruments as the oud, that would be something I am also very interested in.
Ideally, would like to work on original material with everyones input involved. Record, and play out. I don’t have a rehearsal space at the moment. That being said, if you feel like jamming to see if there is any chemistry, . Up until now my songs are pretty down home and stripped down. But here is a link to some tunes. The first tune is a live recording of the band I used to play with. That is kind of what I’m looking to do, but more developed.
