10-10-11 – San Francisco, CA>Reno, NV – Modesto band looking for a solid drummer. We currently have a full lineup including two guitarist (one of which is also the “clean” singer), bassist, keyboardist, and lead vocalist (screams).

We already have 1 song completed and another that only needs vocals.

Our influences range from reggae, country, jazz, metal, hardcore, house, dubstep, and pretty much each and every thing in between.

We had a drummer, and recently, he and us came to a mutual agreement to part ways due in part to scheduling conflicts among other things. We are still close friends.

Although I, the vocalist, cannot speak for everyone, my “idea” for this band originally consisted of a combination of the keyboards/synth of bands like The Devil Wears Prada and Abandon All Ships with the guitars, bass, and drums being more along the lines of Alexisonfire, La Dispute, Pianos Become The Teeth, and maybe even a hint of Maylene & The Sons of Disaster and the vocals being a combination of all the before mentioned bands.

However, I’m not really THAT picky. I have faith in the musicians that I have carefully selected to be a part of this, and they are all close friends of mine that I have made in the past 7 or 8 years that I have been in the music scene.

We all have relatively decent equipment (some of us need to upgrade a bit, but when the time comes for shows/touring/etc., we will make sure that happens), we all have dedication, we all have experience, and we all have the contacts to really make this work.

I have been working closely with producers, labels, management companies, and bookers for a long time now, and when the time is right, I have plenty of favors I can call in, and plenty of opportunities that I can make into realities.

We currently practice about once a week, in the evenings, usually somewhere between Tuesday-Thursday, but it can, and will vary.

I understand with 5 (hopefully 6 soon) members in a band, all of whom (minus one) have jobs, there are going to be scheduling conflicts, and people are going to not be able to make practice ALL the time, but to be honest, if you’re not going to be able to make it AT LEAST 50-75% of the time, then this IS NOT the band for you.

You must need the following:
Equipment (obviously) – Double bass pedal preferred, but if you can get down on one kick, we won’t hold it against you.
Pro attitude – You need to WANT to be in a band, play shows, tour, maybe get signed
No hard drugs – That shit doesn’t fly. 420 friendly, and we all drink here and there. If you are to drink/smoke, please don’t get completely fucked up before a show.
Friendly attitude – We all are taking this band very seriously, but we are friends first, and a band second. If we don’t get along, it won’t work.
Ability to accept constructive criticism – If something doesn’t sound quite right, we will tell you, and try to fix it. Just roll with the punches.

The following are definite pluses:
Transportation – We all come to Modesto to practice from as far as Stockton and Turlock, so, if you’re on the way (or can even help with gas), there is a strong possibility we can (and most likely will) help out with that. Oh, and if you have a place to jam, then we might be able to figure something out too.
Singing/screaming ability – Back up vocalists are always nice.
At least 18 – If you are an absolutely amazing 14 year old drummer, I’m not saying we’d say no, but just for the sake of shows, and lack of parental control, at least 18 is definitely preferred.
Writing ability – The more people that can write, the faster the process will go.

We are going to be hitting the studio hard once we have 5 or 6 songs written for our first EP. We are getting studio time for free with an amazing producer who has worked with several amazing bands, as well as currently being an intern for a huge label. This producer is also a drummer (among other things), so expect him to not only work hard with you to make things sound perfect, but also to give you some definite criticism. I have been told that more often then not, he will spend two full days in the studio with a drummer PER SONG. He doesn’t mess around, he knows what he is doing, and he does it very well.

Once we get the EP recorded, we will be playing some local shows to get our name out there (by local I mean as far as Sac, Fresno, the bay, and Reno), and once everyone has the available money as well as time off work, we will slowly begin to tour. Probably start off with a few little weekend tours, then a week here and there, and so on and so forth, with the ultimate goal being to find a balance between touring and turning a profit that we are all comfortable with.

I know this has been somewhat ridiculously specific, but this band has the potential to be something worthwhile, and we don’t want to waste your time, and don’t want you wasting ours.
