Taught myself to play rhythm guitar (could always sing and harmonize) and enjoyed being in quite a few bands back then. Did my part in the military, raised a family and now, after a few (sic) years, I am free again to pursue my love of this music.
I am seeking musicians of like interests/age group. The late 50s, through the 60s and into the early 70s was a fantastic time for beautiful music. I would love to put something together that would reflect that era.
If you can play a decent lead guitar or bass AND can sing (leads too) and harmonize, I surely would like to talk with you. If you have something already started in this vein, I’d love to see if I can fit your needs.
I have left the drummer out only for the time being. I have found (by previous efforts) that putting the singing/guitar end of this effort together can be a little daunting and time consuming, if one wants to have this sound right.

Our influences include British invasion, power pop and 1960s garage rock.
We are a hard-rocking original band with a timeless retro style. Your skill set, style and tone should border on 50-60′s rock and roll, rockabilly, even country, but there are also plenty of opportunities to throw it into overdrive.

Must be willing to travel. We played around 50 shows last year and we are signed to an indie label.

Q. How often/where do you rehearse?
A. When we are not touring we rehearse 1-2 times a week in Boston.
Q. How often do you travel? I have [insert the following] a [day job] , [family], [cape summer rental] and am concerned I will not be able to keep up with your tour schedule.
A. We need somebody with a minimum of 2-weeks vacation. We do several three-day weekend trips and 1-2 one-week tours a year and we do our best to accomodate everyone’s availability.

A. The band has a modest income, all of which goes back into the band to finance our rehearsal studio, recording and the bulk of our travel expenses.

The Post Nuclear Psycho Hippies From Hell Rock & Roll Orchestra is auditioning “Rhythm Sections”desiring to do “History of Rock” SHOWS for well paying gigs and charity events.
The shows will include properly done musical arrangements with some oddball costumes and some silly “schtick”.
Show sets include Doo Wop, Folk Rock, 60′s Protest, 60′s Pop, British Invasion, Beatles, 70′s classic Rock, Blues.
Auditions and rehersals will be on Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons or mini rehearsal / jams on some weeknights until smaller “dress rehersal” gigs are ready to play.
“Rhythm Sections” wishing to apply should have your and current and past songlists and current set lists ready to email prior to email.
Individual musicians (guitar, bass drums, keys, strings, horns, woodwinds, female vocalists / instrumentalists, sitar, banjo, digeridoo, spoons, chopstix, etc ) wishing to apply should have a songlist of all songs you have played properly in past bands.
There is some opportunity for musicians with tight family schedules as long as you can show up on time when you say you can and do your homework.
This is a real “business plan” with opportunity for musicians for the “full time” house band, plus rotating musicians who can not commit to a full time situation, but would like to play out and earn some extra bucks, once or twice a month.
What It Ain’t….
Not an alcoholic bar band…although we might play a bar occasionally…..
Not a jam band……although we will have some jam days in the Psycho Hippies Clubhouse, at your grannies clothing optional pool party, or your mother-in-laws institutional commitment event.
Not an original music band, although we will be recording original music as soon “show band musicians” have been indoctrinated into the “Clubhouse Asylum Recording Unit”.
So my fellow musicians……..if you would like to have a long term earning and gigging “business plan” situation with musicians you like, and you can show up on time, and be prepared for that days rehersal, and not have stupid excuses why you couldn’t show up, please reply as above.

05-31-11 – New York City, NY>Philadelphia, PA – Band that is very active is on the search for a hi-caliber male or female drummer. Need to be influenced and play in the manner of such bands as The Hives, The Von Bondies, The Subways, etc, also be influenced by the British invasion, 60′s garage, 70′s punk. A cool vibe and a rock and roll look that adheres with such bands is a must. As stated, the band is active and we are now looking to replace the drummer now at the kit. Everything is very much in motion and in place for the right person.

The right person….should be very low in maintenance, have a positive attitude, be very much a team player, think out of the box, think BIG as in very much beyond the local scene, not be a druggie or a drunk, be responsible, and have a good understanding that the whole package is what sells, and that the proper image and presentation is crucial. This band is made up of vets who are together to take over the planet with the sound. New album is recorded, and after that the possibilities are many. This is a very good situation for just the right person who likes to work hard, knows the story and again, is a team player.

Rehearsals will be both in Manhattan, and Jersey near NY, as we have members in both and mic it up sometimes.
