12-21-11 – Boston, MA>Portland, ME – Director: Nick Backer. Promotion Cake is a short film that comments on professional frustration of being a twenty something. The film contains a message at the end and that message is if you don’t like the path you are on in life change lanes. In it, the plot is described as a young business professional confounded by the fact that he has not been promoted given that he has worked there for over a year. Promotion Cake follows a day in his professional life, in which he constantly battles day to day problems. Our lead watches a new co-worker receive a promotion and that sets him off. He finally has had enough an decides to take matters into his own hands when he discovers the concept of workers compensation. The main character goes to great lengths in his hairbrained scheme to injure himself and along the way he faces obstacles that were not foreseen. 08-24-11 – Cleveland, OH>Detroit, MI – Cleveland’s Own Stella is seeking lead and supporting actors for her upcoming stage play The Bridge of No Return. The Bridge of No Return is about 30 year old business professional Felicia San Ford, who moves to the big apple to take on the high demands of love, life and a career. The stage play is based off of the novel written by Cleveland’s own Stella.
Auditions will be held Friday August 26, 2011 from 5:00pm to 7:30 pm. And Sunday August 28th from 3:00pm until 5:30.
Participants should:
-be at least 18 years old
-come to the call “well-groomed and wearing your best business casual attire
-be prepared to present the monologue of your choice. A script will only be provided for the second round of auditions.
