03-14-12 – Atlanta, GA>Birmingham, AL – hey there! sleepy static is ryan tingle and joel hoffman. joel plays guitar and ryan writes the vocal melodies and lyrics. we just recorded a 5 song demo and we are looking for like-minded musicians to collaborate with to round out our sound. (((((please listen w/ headphones on)))))) we are seeking a female vocalist, additional male vocals (both backup and lead), keys/synth/piano, cellist, drums, percussionist, bassist, banjoist, pots/pans, whatever. we have only been writing together for a few months but we are cranking out songs at a remarkable clip. the songs are very melody-driven w/ hints of wilco, the national, my morning jacket, great lake swimmers, bon iver, coldplay, ryan adams, iron and wine, josh rouse, townes van zandt, etc. ideally we turn this quaint project into something big and meaningful but manage to maintain its melodic core. we have tons of equipment and a great (free!) practice space. please take a listen and let us know what you think.
