28 year old Janson Gomez, has returned to town with a poorly wrapped present and an uncertain angst to celebrate Christmas with his dysfunctional
family. There he remembers what drove him to leave in the first place, as he deals with his overbearing older sister, her townie, slob of a boyfriend, and meets his six year old nephew for the first time.

The Watson family are all together for the Fourth of July. The oldest son, MELVIN JR. has come to spend the holiday with his family as well as the youngest son, MILES who is home from college for the weekend.
The patriarch of the family, MELVIN SR. along with his wife DONNA are just excited to have all of their children home together. The baby girl of the bunch, MELISSA is happy to have her big brother MELVIN JR home and hopes that the sibling rivalries can remain at a minimum.
Speaking of sibling rivalry; the second son, DONNIE has a deep resentment towards his elder brother due to the fact that MELVIN JR. chose to leave home and pursue his own dreams rather than helping with the family business as he and childhood friend of the family Trevon have done.
