The band has been around for over 3 years now. We have a few albums recorded as well as some EPs and singles. We’ve done some touring to the east and west coast and played all around the Bay Area. We’ve got a good fan base and things are starting to pick up so we would like to continue the momentum.

ABOUT THE SHOW Musical Chairs is the story of a writer (Joe Preston) who has written a new play opening off Broadway. The characters of the musical are Joe, his still friendly former wife Valerie (a now famous west coast actress), the show producer Matty, and 12 audience members who come to see the play. Each of the “character audience members” has their own story and background which is revealed and explored in dialogue and songs. For the vast majority of the show, most characters are “seated” facing the actual audience. They “step forward” for various musical numbers and for some entrances and exits. The “audience characters” sit in chairs looking at the actual audience, as if the play they are watching is over the heads of the real audience.
All these audience characters stay on stage for most of both acts and have lines throughout both acts. This means that the full cast will be needed for most rehearsals involving dialog or staging. Much in the style of Putnam County Spelling Bee, or A Chorus Line, as each of these characters sings, the other members of the cast act as backup singers for some of the songs. 02-08-12 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – I say college as we are all in it , doesnt mean you have to be ,if your older that is no biggie. Let me talk about the band a bit. Second son was formed in September 2010 , we wrote 9 original songs , 3 of which went on a EP released in May 2011. This whole time we played many shows , averaging about 1 a week all over. We had some great times and in the summer we were offered a gig in California at a big festival , we were paid great , had a awesome time , were given a sweet hotel to crash in , etc (this will happen again if we find a lead guitarist). We then kept playing and writing,played alot of small gigs and a sweet one on the coast called zombie prom , in December 2011 we recorded a 9 track album of all of our finished Originals. Our “World Rock” sound can be described as an upbeat rock band with worldly elements – brazilian, middle eastern and surf flavor.
Bands we love: Sigur Ros, Muse, Radiohead, Black Keys. . . add a little Ennio Morricone and you get a taste of what we go for.
Ambience has had a great run over the past few years. Radio exposure, west coast tours, festivals, and a wonderful Bay Area fan base have kept us going.
Our search comes down to this: We are looking for a musician to join us as a vocalist. Someone who is serious, passionate and above all, lives to sing. Playing a mean rhythm guitar is an extra bonus.
