03-13-12 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – I just moved out here a while ago and am looking to meet up with a bassist and/or drummer and/or another guitarist. I also want to see some shows in the area.
I’ve been playing and experimenting with my guitars for 9-1/2 years. I’m 31 and would prefer to meet up with people that don’t go to school full time or have many outside obligations. I have enough equipment to gig but no vocal PA. To get around that I can plug a Shure 58 into one of my Bassman channels. This solution is passable. I have a digital field recorder which may come in handy.
Also, I didn’t like being a wage slave so I quit my job and would like to keep it that way. If I am forced to get a job it won’t be until (at the very least) Jan 2013 and it will be part-time menial labor. I’m not homeless. I don’t have a trust fund and I’m not a hipster. I don’t have a lot of money and I live on a budget so that I don’t get confused and start chasing after stuff that I don’t need. I’ve been in bands before. I’ve played shows. I write songs. I sing. I don’t like shaving but I don’t sport a beard so go figure. I sometimes play with reckless abandon and display questionable technique but I can reel myself back in. I like chord forms and noise and some lead, in that order. I like musicians that create, add to and fill the sound. Recent categorizations of “metal” are destroying my faith in music as a human art form and even though I can understand the appeal on some basal level…I am not interested. Altered tunings usually produce unexpected results so I would like to explore atypical sonic possibilities on occasion. I won’t judge you. Well maybe a little, but not openly and I’ll do my best not to hurt your feelings or shake your confidence. Empathy. I’d appreciate some of the same. I’m my own critic and rarely my own fan. I am open to constructive criticism and of course, collaboration. I’m older than 27, I did my drugs in my twenties and I really swear that I don’t have a gun so you don’t have to worry about that. I don’t hate anyone. If you’re getting any of this send me an email. If you include a phone number I will call. I’m open to pretty much anything. Even if it’s just to check out — Submit Yourself To This Role Now: 1

We are looking for a very talented individual. You should be very comfortable with experimental rock. We are not looking for big egos or old guys that have a 9pm bedtime. We are looking for someone who is a quick learner, enjoys the creative writing process, and whose pride doesn’t interfere with playing pre-written parts or taking constructive criticism. (you will also be able to bring parts and give constructive criticism
We want a singer that has melodies just pop into their heads. nothing wrong with working on them but we would like it if you where apart of jamming/improve process. Someone that knows when to let the song breath a bit and let the band do their thing. Music comes first then your feelings.
“You cant make great art without getting hurt in the process”
be willing to put your heart on your sleeve and make things happen.
we are a fun, supporting group of musicians that wants to make good music.
if that sounds like you then you know what to do. — Submit Yourself To This Role Now: 1

You can hear our music at We have lyrics already written (for 10 songs) and places in which they go, but you as the vocalist will have the ultimate say about what lyrics go where. You will have a chance to delete the lyrics/melodies that we have written in favor of your own original lyrics/melody as long as they contribute to the overall story line. For our next album, after you have gotten a feel of our band, we will be giving you full creative reign, we just need to help guide you through it at first because our songs feature weird time signatures and tempo changes, but you will get used to it. We want someone who can take constructive criticism and is not afraid to tell us when one of our parts sounds off (as we will do the same for you). I have guitar pro’s and midi’s for all ten songs, and we will be performing seven of them on the 17th of next month.
