02-07-12 – Cleveland, OH>Detroit, MI – The Right to Sadness is a short (8-12 minutes) drama. The story follows a young man and woman as they face the consequences of their past actions. Casting is underway for the roles of Heather and Jimmy, the only roles in the film. Shooting will take place in the Jackson, MI area.
Actors must be committed, tactful, and respectful of the working environment and my creative vision for the project. As a director, I like to work with actors. If any cast or crew has thoughts or input, I will typically hear them, but the final decision is mine to make. It is expected and required that all cast members show up well-prepared with their lines memorized. We rehearse for a brief period and then shoot. There are no scheduled rehearsal dates or read throughs. Ideally, this project will be shot entirely in one day. This means that shooting would most likely take at least six-to-eight hours.

02-01-12 – Dallas, TX>Austin, TX – We recently received funding on a low budget feature and are in the pre-production phase. As soon as we complete the casting of a few extra roles, find/lock locations, process contracts, we’ll be setting up call times and will begin shooting. We estimate in approximately 1 1/2 to 2 months out in the Dallas area.
We are operating with a very tight budget and are looking for some crew members that are interested in getting involved unpaid/deferred. You’ll receive a movie credit in the project, meals/drinks on set and a DVD copy. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a narrative feature to add to your resume if interested, as well as network with some active filmmakers in the area who are involved in the project.
Some benefits of getting involved with this project?
1. We’ve received a lot of really positive feedback about the comedy script. We sent it to a well known script analyst who gave it a recommend on the story and on the writer.
2. We have a great cast involved, with some of the most well known talent in the area. We also will have Terry Kiser [Weekend At Bernies] in the project.
3. We’ll be shooting on a multi-cam shoot [3 HDSLRs], have a great set of lenses, great audio gear [shotgun mic, mixer, wireless lavs], etc. We’ll have a professional audio guy and DP on set.
4. Our goal is to have it finished and do a premiere screening this year.
5. We’ve done a lot of pre-promoting on it [3,600+ likes on the Facebook movie fanpage, 90,700+ on the MySpace, 10,300+ following on Twitter, and 48 promotional vids/228,000 views on the YouTube channel]
6. We have promotional videos talking about the synopsis in 14 different languages.
When you roll a lot of this together, it should help us get some write-ups on the project when it’s completed.
I typically operate with a small crew but am open to bringing a few more people on to help make this project better/run smoothly. Please respond with the following…
1. Areas you’d be interested in helping in
2. What your availability typically is like during the week [we're looking at a 15 day shoot, 5 days a week x 3]
3. Any prior experience you have/link to your IMDb/etc. — Submit Yourself To This Role Now: 1
