-Must be male and SERIOUS.

Please, we take our music very seriously. We love having fun, but we are serious about the music.
-Be content with not getting paid for every show. We intend on playing out as often as possible, which means at times playing for free.

-Living with the band. It’d be nice. As said above, we really are serious about this, because we love music. Myself (lead) and the other guitarist are going to move into a place together asafp. -At least 18, no older than 24. Please be out of high school.
-We are NOT a cover band. We may do a cover, but it is all original material otherwise.

-Vocals: We are looking for extremes. Either a Lemmy if you can pull that low register growl off and make it sound cool (NOT DEATH METAL). Or, what we really want, more of a high register kinda thing, an “Axl” if you will. We REALLY are looking for a unique voice!!

We want somebody like Vince Neil/Axl Rose/David Lee Roth that can hit those high notes. We also would prefer a frontman, rather than the bass player singing (unless of course you can pull that off). Please, don’t be like the last guy that contacted us about vocals and merely talk over some riffs.

-Please be able to man up and voice your opinions whenever you feel appropriate and necesssary. We have egos (this is also desirable), but we wanna get along. Also, be positive!!!! About the music, about the look, about the mindset, everything! We wanna be happy, not arguing!!

-We are going for an image. Too many metal bands and rock bands in this area don’t have one. Think of what we were influenced by-GNR, VH, Crue (no makeup, but some wild s***). Stones, that sort of thing. Denim, leather, and jewelry basically.

-We also have a “don’t give a crap” attitude. We don’t want parents to like us, and want to be viewed as pretty wild. Go a little nuts on stage. Be known for “inpropper” behavior.

-If you have some “habits” some view as “nutty” or whatever, don’t be shy. We will not kick you out for anything like that, as said we like some “fun.”

08-18-11 – Detroit, MI>Cleveland, OH – I am currently looking for original bands that have a draw in Hamtramck to perform at the New Dodge Lounge. I am looking for mostly rock and roll, indie rock, punk rock, outlaw country, death rock…….you get the drift.

I am looking for bands that can can draw at least 25 people. It is also very helpful if you can put your own bill together. This isn’t the type of venue that puts random bands together, so unless you are doing it on purpose, I am not trying to create a factory of randomness and put a grindcore band on with a folk band. I want people to come and have a good time and enjoy the vibe of any particular night.

Bands are paid by the door, but the venue will help promote the show through FB, newspaper ads and will print flyers to distribute locally and will also print flyers for the bands to use and promote. There are possibilities for bonuses and regular bookings.

08-06-11 – San Diego, CA>Los Angeles, CA – Looking for open minded, down to earth people trying to play some real music. I play guitar, write and “sing” (I’d call it storytelling; think bob dylan/conor oberst minus the crying) Looking for a piano etc. if you catch my drift. I want everyone to contribute originality to the music, so playing multiple instruments is a plus (I also play drums and bass)
Influenced by RHCP, Incubus, Mars Volta, Jack White, John Frusciante, slipknot, as I lay dying, at the drive in etc. But now I’m all about and want to sound like Bright Eyes/anything Conor Oberst does, Felice Brothers, Avett Brothers, Elliott Smith, Neil Young, Silver Sun Pickups, the Strokes, the Builders and the Butchers, Cage the Elephant, the Black Keys, etc.
I’m down to start out jamming to feel it out, in a garage or around a campfire (probably not the beach, I think it sort of makes you a tool if you bring a guitar to the beach, no offense), but ultimately I want to play some local shows and see where it goes from there.
