Since we are leaders of worship, you must be a believer in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. We do not expect perfection, as we are all working on our faith journey, but you will be held to a higher standard. Audition required.

01-22-12 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – We are a mostly Acoustic Americana /Alt Country band that includes an electric bass player who sings lead and harmonies, a percussionist with congas and a small drum kit who could not carry a tune in a bucket, a lead acoustic guitarist who could sing but won’t, 2 excellent female lead and harmony vocalists, and a lead/rhythm guitarist who also does lead and harmony vocals, and is our primary writer.

We are interested in expanding our sound with a second Lead/Rhythm Guitarist to allow ours to focus on vocals, plus a Dobro, Violin, Cello, and…(???) who can do tasty fills and leads that play well off the melodies for our originals and covers. We don’t sound like anyone else so we’re not trying to copy known bands, although if we had to describe our sound, Eagles meet CCR with a definite twist is close. We range in age from 32 to late 50′s.

We have been rehearsing for a couple of months, and right now we’re doing Monday and Tuesday evenings, and Sunday afternoons in the studio laying down tracks. Not everyone is there at every session, so there is time to work more players in.

We are looking for people who are clean and sober, works well with others, and would enjoy playing with a seriously fun group whose ambition is to record a quality CD of some really nice tunes, and play out a couple of times a month to promote it. We are less interested in clubs than wineries, coffee houses, festivals, and concert venues.

‘Kinsfolk’ is seeking an upright and/or electric bass player to join an original project. We are a female vocalist, an acoustic guitarist (who also plays T Sax), an electric/acoustic guitarist, and a drummer/percussionist. We have a set’s worth of original material and we’ve played a few gigs around town; our current bassist is moving on to focus on other projects. We practice once a week in Vancouver and plan to continue to gig, we’re lining up a recording in late winter, and if we can make it happen, would like to tour! We’re in our mid twenties to mid thirties, and though music is ageless we’d probably like someone in that range.
Our style leans towards the folk sound but our influences are many and our existing material reflects them all (think The Acorn meets The Wooden Sky and they all have a big jam with Vieux Farka Toure, Sarah Vaughan and Lhasa de Sela).
