ABOUT DIVIDED WE FALL: (directed, written, produced by Sharon Cummings)
This play is an adaptation of “West Side Story”. We decided to take it to another level by making the conflicts between Jamaicans and African American. Unfortunately, in this country you can say that every group is resented in some way by another group, whether you are of the same color or not. Being of Caribbean parentage, I saw the conflict between African Americans and Caribbeans during this era. This story is about young people from two groups during the eighties and the hatred they have for each other. The African Americans felt that the Caribbean people, (especially the Jamaicans) have too much control both economically and in their everyday lives. They felt that the Jamaicans got more opportunity than they did. The Jamaicans on the other hand felt that the Americans did not take advantage of the opportunities afforded to them, so the Jamaican felt that in some ways, they were better because of their misconceptions of each other they were constantly fighting against each other. At one point in the story an Americans falls in love with a Jamaicans which caused more conflict. Ignorance and hatred cause violence, loss of lives, and loss of innocence. These youths did not care who got hurt or killed in the crossfire, as long as they were satisfied seeking revenge.
In the end many died or ended up in jail. Loved ones were left to grieve and nothing was resolved, all because of ignorance.

03-18-12 – Chicago, IL>Milwaukee, WI – Looking to form (or join in progress) a good old 60s garage band. I am of that era, cutting my music-teeth on the likes of the British Invasion and the rest of that contemporary American rock scene.
Taught myself to play rhythm guitar (could always sing and harmonize) and enjoyed being in quite a few bands back then. Did my part in the military, raised a family and now, after a few (sic) years, I am free again to pursue my love of this music.
I am seeking musicians of like interests/age group. The late 50s, through the 60s and into the early 70s was a fantastic time for beautiful music. I would love to put something together that would reflect that era.
If you can play a decent lead guitar or bass AND can sing (leads too) and harmonize, I surely would like to talk with you. If you have something already started in this vein, I’d love to see if I can fit your needs.
I have left the drummer out only for the time being. I have found (by previous efforts) that putting the singing/guitar end of this effort together can be a little daunting and time consuming, if one wants to have this sound right.
I am located near Carol Stream. I would hope that you would be fairly close (15-20 mi.).

He asks them what conditions might allow a man from the late Cro-Magnon era to survive until the present day (14,000 years). His fellow professors play along, and they propose ideas and thoughts from each of their specialty fields. 01-09-12 – Phoenix, AZ>Las Vegas, NV – We are attempting to put together a group that will specialize in vocal harmony similar to Manhattan Transfer, The Platters, Temptations, Supremes and other groups of the 50s/60s/70s era. Although the basic genre of music will be based on the 60s, we will also be doing smooth jazz, standards and pop music.
ALL of the music is already digitally sequenced.
Professional stage attire and attituded is a must.
Rehearsals WILL BE 2/3X weekly until the show is ready for public.
Singing leads and being able to “pick” out harmony lines is a must. This is NOT negotiable so if you are not sure you can harmonize, chances are you would be wasting time answering this ad.

01-06-12 – Philadelphia, PA>New York City, NY – Bass, Drums, Guitar seeks front singer/ Gtr for part time band. Classic Rock cover band into all era’s 60′s, 70′s, 80′s and on… everything from Elvis Presly to Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, America, John Couger, Clapton, Jim Croce, Jimmy Buffet, The Band, Van Morrison, Eagles, Doobie Bros and countless other I didn’t mention.
We are three 40 somthings looking to rehearse once a week and gig a couple times a month. Weekends only gigs/ no week nights (Except Fri gigs), We are/were booked until Feb but have had to cancel due to loss of our singer.( Our Feb gig is still booked but we are running out of time…we need a new guy ASAP!!!!)
We are co located in NJ and PA and we rehearse in West Chester PA and Audubon NJ but gig just about anywhere.
No attitudes, pipe dreams or ego’s. We are a relaxed, open, friendly bunch, we do this for the pleasure of maiking great music, have a good time while doing it and we do not do it for the $$
