03-29-11 – San Francisco, CA>Reno, NV – We are currently seeking crew for the film, which is
Non-Union. They are encouraging other independent filmmakers and students to
apply for the various positions needed. The shooting will commence only on
weekends, starting Friday evenings, and going through Sunday evening. Exact
dates are TBA, however production meetings have been taking place in Sacramento
for the past two months in preparation for the shoot. The film will be shot on
various forms of high definition as well as digital video, to give each story a
different look and effect.
Although you do not have to be professional to apply, if you are applying for
the position of either director of photography or camera operator, the
production companies do wish to see a demo reel or sample of work. To apply for
the positions (and you may apply for more than one), we ask that you reply to the film’s email address.
The production companies are currently seeking the following positions for the
film:
The number following the position denotes how many positions are available
Script Supervisor (1) – will assist the producers and directors in notating
shots, keeping track of continuity, and following the exact shot list and day’s
shooting schedule
Director of Photography (3) – will help the director decide upon the look of the
film, will instruct lighting coordinators, will operate camera(s), will set up
shots with director
First and Second Assistant Camera Operators (4) – will assist the director of
photography, will operate camera(s)
Lighting Coordinator (4) – will assist the director of photography in setting up
lights for each shot of the film
Sound Coordinator (4) – will be responsible for recording on-set sound and
dialogue, including boom mic operating, and mic placement on actors, etc.
Assistant Directors (3) – will help the director by running the set between
shots, supervising the production assistants, and working with the script
supervisor to ensure that shooting schedule is being followed
Production Assistants (4) – will assist the producers and assistant directors
with various duties, including using the slate (clapboard) to notate shots,
crowd control on public sets, running cable for electricity, running errands for
the directors and producers that may be needed, posting signs as needed,
assisting actors with errands that may be needed
There are other positions needed, however the above positions are the ones which
