02-29-12 – Boston, MA>Hartford, CT – Celtic rock/Gypsy punk band looking for a guitarist.
We play fun, energetic music that draws from different ethnic roots music, such as Irish, Appalachian string music, middle eastern, klezmer, flamenco, and gypsy, with a driving rock interpretation. Upbeat and danceable but with a dark/heavy side. Our typical sound includes electric violin, vocals, electric bass, acoustic/electric guitar, and drums. Our band has developed a good reputation/following and we’re looking to keep the momentum going.
Acoustic guitar preferred. Looking for strong rhythmic guitar skills and lead guitar capabilities. Backup singing ability a large plus, but not necessary.
Equally important is your character and personality. It will be important for you to fit in with the group for things to work out: generally sober, easy going, open-minded, and motivated should all describe you.
Could be a great fit for jazz or metal musicians looking for something different or a singer songwriter/folk guitarist. Serious, reliable musicians only. Must have own equipment. Regular practice (once a week typically) with regular paid gigs (3-5 per month).
