We are an original rock band looking for a bassist to complete our line-up. Right now our guitarist is doing double duty, and we’ve got good stuff from i, but we need someone. We have a slew of originals, a place to reherse, a bunch of shows under our belt, with more to come, management, crew and travel opportunities. We have a bunch of different influences and play pretty much any style. We all play something, we all write music and lyrics, and we’ve all got alot of experience at this.
We are looking for someone between 21-30, who has experience, chops, gear, has no problem playing in E flat, and can bring songs, ideas and lyrics to the table. We’re a democracy, we all contribute. Bonus points if you play 5 string, fretless, slap and dig the bass wah! Double bonus if you drive. Triple bonus points if you have a good look and stage presence(we are putting on a show after all).
We do NOT want flakey people who are in like 8 different bands and can’t commit, anyone with drug or drink issues, beginners, ego maniacs, guitarists (we only need one), racists, sexists or homophobes.
We’re serious about what we do and want to go somewhere with it NOW. Now is the time and there is no time to waste. If you want to create and original interesting music & art, put on a great show, travel, have fun, make friends, and get paid for it, we’re your band.

04-24-11 – Birmingham, AL>Atlanta, GA – Hobby band with blues and Southern rock oriented set list needs a bass player for regular Saturday jams, 10:30 to 2:00 Age/race/gender irrelevant. We are not pro level and we are not looking for a Geddy Lee, just someone who enjoys our type of music and can at least hit the root notes on time most of the time for starters, and is willing to learn the signature bass parts over time. Average age of our group (two guitar, vocal, drum) is about 40. We meet at a studio on East North Street near Stone Avenue.

Here are some things we know from experience do not work for our band …

Needs a ride
Needs a shower
Needs to sober up
Needs a bass/amp
Feels that louder is always better
Needs to learn the basics of beginner bass
Looking for a ready made band to cajole into gigging
Feels that “10:30″ means “sometime between 11:00 & 12:00″
Feels that bass and case should never part outside of band time
Feels that the band is a great backing track for scale experiments
Feels that band time is a good time to get smashed on alcohol or drugs
Feels that band time is the right time to have that overdue screaming fight with spouse
