Playing blues (old-school blues, texas blues, swing jazz-blues) of the non-blues rock variety by artists such as albert collins, guitar slim, bb king, buddy guy etc as well as r&b-soul type stuff, a variety of originals in various tasteful genres. Quite a bit of jazz influence.

Scheduling the first rehearsal for mid-november. this project has a focus on subtlety, dynamics, diversity and well-crafted arrangements. 08-25-11 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – I recently recorded a six-song CD of old-skool blues and jazzy originals, now I am looking for musicians in the area who interested in rehearsing and performing regularly.

We are not talking about endless I-IV-V shuffles, but actual songs by artists such as Guitar Slim, T-Bone Walker, BB King, Albert Collins, and many others.

Knowledge of theory/harmony as well as familiarity with country blues, electric blues, rhythm and blues and jazz/blues is important, as is the ability to play the appropriate part on any given song and listen to guidance in this area (ie if you are playing the wrong part i will tell you).

I sing and play guitar as well as writing and arranging– if you have a good voice and have some originals or other tunes that fit in, you will have your chance to shine. Need bass and drums, and either a keyboard player or 2nd guitar as i like to be able to concentrate on singing when i am singing. If you are a guitar player, you must be a great rhythm player. If so, you will get your chance to solo.

First and foremost i am looking for a bassist, other musicians can be found or hired as we go.

The idea, of course, is performing and getting paid on a regular basis– however you must be willing to put in the work first.

I have a really nice rehearsal spot, it is 20-25 min out of town so you need a car. Must be able to commit to at least two rehearsals a week.

07-01-11 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – We are looking for a creative and skilled musician, hopefully a bassist who would like to get together a couple times a week and work on set lists for an eventual band. Focus on fairly advanced but subtle chops. i sing and play guitar, write and like to co-write with other good writers. some genres I prefer are blues (old school, t-bone walker, guitar slim thru buddy and bb), good rock (dire straits, the band) jazz blues and modal jazz, reggae funk jams, etc. but mainly genre-busting styles. I have originals and other tunes charted and demoed. If you play keys as well as bass this is great for songwriting and arranging.
