02-10-12 – Chicago, IL>Milwaukee, WI – We are looking for a guitarist who can actively tour with a fairly established indie rock band. We are looking for a very specific person so please reply only if you can meet most of this criteria:
1. You think Spoon is awesome. You think Radiohead is awesome. You like maybe the Walkmen or bands who use space well. You like Elvis Costello. YOU UNDERSTAND WHY THESE BANDS KICK ASS AND CAN SPEAK AT LENGTH ABOUT IT.
2. You have your shit together. You can tour. You have your shit together and you can tour. Soon. Starting with long weekends.
3. You take your guitar tone very seriously. If you play a Mesa stack, you probably don’t need to reply. You can use effects like reverb and your overdrive is classy. You are classy. — Submit Yourself To This Role Now: 1

08-16-11 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – My name is Johnny C. Wood and I’m a singer/songwriter and rhythm/lead guitarist and have been writing and playing music for over 25 years. I’m relatively new to the area and moved here from Northern Cali. My influences for this project are The Mother Hips, Moe, Cake, Ween, Sublime, Phish, Allman Bros, etc. My original music is very eclectic, with a firm Funk foundation that can hold up Rock, Reggae, Blues, Jam, Groove, etc. This recording was the best quality we had but it doesn’t represent my guitar tone very well, I was using a borrowed amp and a new pedal board.
I’ve been in several Bands, my most recent one was a Power Trio with myself on guitar and vocals, plus bass and drums. We added keys for gigs whenever possible. I prefer to have a solid keyboardist, but could easily do the Trio core group again. As a vocalist I can model many voices, but I can sound a lot like Cake, Mother Hips, and Bradley from Sublime. This project would sound a lot like Sublime, minus the punk, plus Jams. As a songwriter I focus on song structure more and don’t overdo the long drawn out jammy solos.
I am a virtual Band in a Box, all I need are some skilled musicians who can practice AT LEAST once a week, and preferably twice whenever possible. I could easily do more. I’m in my 30s and have no family, but it’s ok if you do. I might prefer other musicians in their 30s for that peer feel, but I’m open to the right musicians for the project. I’m also very 420 friendly and you should at least be 420 tolerant. I don’t overdo drink or smoke when I play, I’d prefer to sound like a pro.
