11-01-11 – Los Angeles, CA>San Diego, CA – Band Needs Guitarist.
Looking for a guitarist/co-singer for now, and drums as we get some material or do some covers.
I would prefer to have a core focus on early punk, and 80s hardcore with overall horror/tongue-in-cheek themes. I love ska, reggae, Oi, classic rock, blues, rockabilly, metal, thrash, etc. and it’d be nice to see some of that come out in the music, but just as flares or breakdowns. I’d say some of the core groups I’m looking to as influences are Danzig, Samhain, Bad Religion, The Damned, The Clash, Bad Brains, Rancid, Misfits, Minor Threat, early AFI, I’m open to others interests and direction as well.
I’ve played with people who have dreams of “making it big.” That is nice and all but I just want to play some music, gig here and there, get better at playing, and over all have some fun. I recently moved to California for a full time job, so this is just something on the side and weekends. I’d rather just hang out, play some music, and slowly get more serious if it clicks. I’ve played the drums in the past for various other bands, but have been learning guitar/bass for a little while now. So newer or more experienced musicians are welcome.
Have a job and transportation. I don’t have the greatest gear, this is a hobby, but if this goes well, I’m looking to invest in better equipment. If you know a place to practice, that would be great.
