Independent Short Film needs cast. I am the writer/director looking for interested folks to be a part of something special. This film will be made for film festivals distribution. Lead characters must be available all weekends of March 2012 and any meetings called before then, which should only be 1-2 at most. All filming will take place in the Murfreesboro, MTSU area. If you are interested please send a recent picture and resume of your experience, or a short bio about yourself, and what character(s) you would like to audition for no later than Jan 28th, 2012. STORYLINE: El Jardín del Barrio (The Neighborhood Garden) tells the story of Veto, a young Latino adolescent trying to find his place in his community, and his grandfather, Ciro, who tries to take a guiding role in the boy’s life after the death of Veto’s parents. The two are and have been dealing with the prospect of gang relations in their community, and as the story unravels, we see two different time periods come to a turning point where Veto and Ciro must make decisions that will affect themselves, their families, and their communities.

[GRANDPA CIRO] Male Hispanic, mid 60′s. Grandfather of Veto and Lucia. Medium build, almost heavy set. Ex-gang member from East Los Angeles that has been exiled for over 30 years. Through his experience he has become more and more over protective of his grandchildren and community.

Shooting in Mid February to Mid March 2011 (weekends only)
