02-07-12 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – Hey! I’m a student at OSU and am looking to have some people play along with me at Battle of the Bands.. and maybe more than that. I have quite a bit of songs written and really want to perform!

Go ahead and or text if you are interested and decently talented! You need to be able to have a creative add and come up with the music yourself.

I like a bunch of different genres but here are some bands/artists I really like. The Offspring, Mindless Self Indulgence, The Rolling Stones, Pepper, Mason Jennings, Nirvana and much more but I’m sure that will do it for now.

Hope to get people who can also become my good friends and fit with my personality.. can’t really have a good band if you’re not having fun and can’t connect with one another. Just get a hold of me and hopefully we can set up an audition/jam session.

searching for Hand Drummer-Portland OR – 1110627

11-20-11 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – We’re an acoustic duo (for now) Female vocalist who can Nail any style of music!! She has a SERIOUS set of pipes…..she can belt like Ann Wilson, Neko Case and PJ Harvey….whisper like Hope Sandoval and Cat Power as well as knock out the soul like Aretha, Winehouse and Nina Simone. Me….I play acoustic, 6-12 string, Dobro, Slide. (I do play electric as well…but we are focusing on an acoustic format for the time being. My electric style is similar to Dave Navarro, David Gilmour, Billy Duffy…big sonic heavy delayed atmosphereic sounds)…eventually we would lke to blend the two. Have the strong acoustic base plus the Big Sonic Energy of Janes Addiction and the Cult….with the sex apppeal of Tricky, Massive Attack and Beats Antique.
Currently we are working on a very diverse set of covers just to lay a foundation and start to play some open mics and smaller shows.. We ARE NOT looking to to make boring Folk Rock….No generic Indigo Girls/Sheryl Crow flavorless predictability. Looking to capture serious mood, love darker toned ideas, but not gloom and doom.
We are looking to add a hand drummer/percussionist (who at some point can work in a full kit) to add some dimension to our acoustic set. Think acoustic Zeppelin, Janes Addiction, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Mark Lanegan, Gillian Welch as well as some soul, funk and deep voodoo blues….want to add depth and work up some cool tribal aspects to the material we are working on. We both have a strong sense of melody and will be working on originals soon. I have recorded, released music and toured extensively. I have a digital recording set up and we are very dedicated.

10-19-11 – Nashville, TN>Louisville, KY – Hi, I’m a guitarist/singer/writer wanting to put together an alternative rock band, kinda as a 90s throwback sound but with modern influences. I’m just lacking a drummer. I like mixing live and electronic drums, samples, and synths and have some gear to make that happen. I have recorded a solo album and played out mixing beats with live instruments, but I really want to flesh this stuff out into a full-on band sound and get other members that could take part in writing and collaborating on new material. You can check out Hope you like what you hear. I have a lot of new material since I recorded that stuff as well. If you’ve read this far then you probably are aware that the terms “alternative” and “paid” don’t usually go hand in hand in Nashville, so if you’re looking for a check, I unfortunately cannot offer that at this time. The idea is to change that, though. Not looking to quit the day job and all, but I do care more about music than my occupation, just to give you an idea of what I’m trying to do.
