03-29-11 – Cleveland, OH>Detroit, MI – Wanted: Metal Guitarist

A unique sounding and upstart local metal band (consisting of drums, bass, guitar and vox) is currently seeking a second guitarist. We have started writing of quality original material. As many other good bands do, we strive to let the music breathe from us as a band and not what the market dictates. Everyone in the band has different influences so the list would to large to print, however, to give you an idea of a very few: Machine Head, Emmure, White Zombie, Pantera, Lamb of God, Behemoth, Fear Factory, Arch Enemy, Cannibal Corpse, The Defiled, Slipknot, Strapping Young Lad, Pro Pain, Hatebreed and many, many, many more.

The individual we seek will have the following skills: strong rhythm skills, ability to play leads, ability to play meters besides 4/4 and have a high degree of creativity that can be brought to the table during the writing process. This individual should be at least 21 and would need to have a source of income (so they can afford their own transportation, maintain professional level gear and minor miscellaneous band expenses).

Most importantly, we treat the band as a second family, therefore we stress that the following traits are essential: patience, honesty, reliable, flexible (open minded to each other’s musical ideas), having tact and courtesy in the way one speaks to others in the band and professionals in the industry, understanding that everyone in the band has an equal say and that everyone needs to be a team player. We are always looking to improve ourselves as a band as well as develop ourselves individually as players so I suppose there’s an element of humbleness that’s also desired ( if you’re an ego tripping baffoon this is not your gig).

We practice on the near west side, typically on a week day evening from 7PM -9PM and then again Sunday afternoons for approximately 4 hours. With life’s many obligations, we plan to play shows once or twice a month. (please be advised that we do this for fun, not as a source of income).
