03-01-12 – Boston, MA>Hartford, CT – It always kind of sucks figuring out to say in these ads so I’m just going to make bullet points.

- Our band is ill jack daisy . We’re very much influenced by blues, soul and crescent city jazz on the one hand, but also by folk, bluegrass and outlaw country… that’s not to say every influence goes into every song, but you get the idea. For example, we’d love to get some tunes going with really straight, dark sounding Americana instrumentation (fiddle, upright bass, etc) and then put a bluesy, soulful vocal on top of that.

- The 3 current members are vocals/guitar, real guitar and bass. We’re all in our mid twenties, fun people to hang out with, and very serious about making original music. We practice in our basement in Dorchester. I’d say we need a percussionist more immediately than anything else, but we’re playing chess not checkers here… if you’re cool and you have great taste, hit us up no matter what!

- In addition to wanting new personnel just for their cool instruments and whatnot, we’d really like to find a like-minded person who would want to hang out and be a co-arranger/producer person with us. Maybe that’d be a drummer who would suggest different grooves we could try with a new song, maybe it’d be a pianist who would have thoughts on chord subs, maybe it’d be a fiddler who would help us make decisions about how the intro to some song would sound. There are few things more fun for me than writing a new tune (maybe just some chords, melody and lyrics) and then hanging with friends and bouncing around ideas about how we’d go about arranging, performing and recording it.
