Our ideal intern wakes up in the morning wondering what’s landed on the front page of The NYT or The WSJ; excels at translating sophisticated subject matter into clear and compelling story ideas; digs brainstorming and isn’t afraid of having ten mediocre ideas shot down before hitting upon a great one; knows when to ask questions and when to figure it out solo; is a social media whiz; and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should have a college degree; experience in PR or journalism (or other relevant fields); excellent writing, editing/proofreading and speaking skills; and a knack for getting the details right the first time around.
In exchange for your hard work, you’ll get hands-on training and experience in creating media lists; identifying relevant story ideas for clients and writing pitches; drafting press releases and other communications materials; interacting with journalists of every stripe; and executing strategic communications campaigns.
