Isobel Lomax & Dolly Biddle are two “mature” cable-access cooking shows hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years, ever since Stephen Biddle dated one & married the other. When circumstances put them together on a TV show called The Kitchen Witches, the insults are flung harder than the food! 12-16-11 – Seattle, WA>Portland, OR – We are looking for a vinyl DJ to perform at Cicchetti in Eastlake on Thursday, December 22nd from 9-midnight. This could be an on-going monthly gig for the right person.

About Cicchertti: Cicchetti Kitchen and Bar is a Mediterranean restaurant opened 2 years ago in the Eastlake neighborhood. It is a sister restaurant to Serafina, which has been around for 20 years. We opened Cicchetti with the idea the Eastlake needed a more casual, late night dining and full bar option. The space was an architecture firm designed by the great Seattle architect George Suyama. It seats about 80 people, and has an upstairs mezzanine with city skyline views. (www.cicchettiseattle.com) Serafina has long had a music program, having live jazz three nights a week, sometimes more. We want to make the space and the restaurant a bit more dynamic by adding a music program that is current, unique and complements the mood and feeling of the restaurant. So that is the general idea, here are the specifics:

• Only use vinyl
• Be professional, personable, presentable and able to read a crowd
• Play ambiance music – this is not a dance club gig. Volume and music selection must be taken seriously.
• Play from 9pm-midnight
• We do not own any speakers and our PA system is not located in an area that would allow you to plug into it, so all your own equipment is necessary

We’ve been together for about a year, playing at Martyrs, Reggie’s, the University Club, the Beat Kitchen, the Everleigh Club, the Hungry Brain, the Ace Bar and the Viaduct Theater.

As this band is theatrically oriented, I direct it like theatre…and although I’ll want to showcase the particular strengths of the musicians I work with, I should note that I’m not looking for song-writing collaborators…I have too much material of my own which I’m eager to unpack.
