The Huron Valley Harmonizers is a 4-part barbershop/a cappella chorus from Ypsilanti, MI.
With the Huron Valley Harmonizers, you will:
-Improve your singing by working on vocal technique, close harmonizing, ear training, sight singing, and performance skills
-Practice and perform with talented musicians in-training
-Learn to sing in a barbershop quartet or chorus
-Enjoy fellowship and song with a great group of guys every week
-Experience “ringing chords” If you have never heard one, you are in for a real treat!!!
Musical experience is a plus but not a requirement. Even if you can’t read music, if you can carry a tune, you will be singing harmony in no time!!!

Synopsis: Godspell was conceived and originally directed by John Michael Tebelak, and offers music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. One of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time, Godspell is based primarily on the Gospel According to St. Matthew. As the cast of actors makes its way through “Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord,” “Save The People,” “Learn Your Lessons Well,” “Bless the Lord,” “All For The Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side,” audience members get to see the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and hearteningly to life. The show also touchingly presents the story of Jesus’ last moments beginning with the Last Supper.
The main story of Godspell is portrayed in the show’s subtext–in the way the players interact with their leader, coming together to create a loving community by sharing stories about living good lives and singing about love, joy, gratitude, judgment and redemption, the group of disparate individuals band together with a common purpose to face challenges and obstacles as they are tested along the way.

Audition Requirements: Please bring clothing and shoes suitable for movement. Be prepared to sing a song, and bring your music (there will also be music available on site for those that do not have their own). There will be a pianist available at auditions, and all songs must be sung with piano accompaniment. We are not a busy band, due to members having other band projects. My goal for Roads is to go as far as God wants us to go.
