Must be willing to woodshed on the material since it is difficult with many tempo and signature changes. Syncopated materiel that has to be tight. You have to love fusion to play this type of material. If your playing in several bands this will not be a thing that you could do since you have to take the time to study the material. Example of materail are Billy Cobham, Yellowjackets, Vital Information, Bill Evans the Sax player which has a funk flair to it and very syncopated.
