02-11-12 – Los Angeles, CA>San Diego, CA – This is not a for hire gig! We are looking for someone who wants to stretch their skills, push their limits, and keep progressing as a musician with the rest of us.
We’ve released a studio album and are pursuing paid gigs.. but currently, we are not interested in any hired guns. Just looking for someone who loves to play real music.
This IS a passion project and we generally rehearse 1x per week and gig 2-3x per month.
We are an instrumental group playing an eclectic set of intricate music. Originals and covers… from funk to jazz to bluegrass to latin to reggae, with sort of a jamband mentality.
Our main influences/covers are Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, David Grisman, The Greyboy Allstars, Pancho Sanchez, and others.
Our drummer has to leave the group, so we’re looking for a solid kit player (hybrid drums + percussion even better) – preferably trained – who’s interested in joining.
A good listener, great funky/groove player, and definitely DYNAMIC – we are a quieter group than some. Definitely a bonus if you know The Flecktones / Victor Wooten.
