04-22-11 – Dallas, TX>Oklahoma City, OK – In Padua, Italy, the strong-willed Katherine leaves men quaking in fear – but her younger sister Bianca has many adoring suitors. Daddy declares that no one may marry Bianca until a husband is found for Kate “the shrew”. Petruchio, boastful and competitive, takes on a challenge by the suitors to win Kate and to “tame” her. When the headstrong Kate and Petruchio meet, sparks of all kinds fly, and they are quickly married in a hilarious ceremony. Meanwhile, Bianca’s suitors, disguised as her tutors, compete for her affections, while servants go in disguise as masters and strangers go in disguise as fathers. Petruchio and Kate undergo a strenuous “taming” process at his country estate, and at Bianca’s wedding, demonstrate to all the guests how they have both been changed. This production will be set in the 1950’s and will feature music and dancing of the period.
