Bio
Our voyage began in 2008, founded by musician and producer Tristan James, and inspired by a pirate crew who sailed the waters of the Atlantic in the early 1700s. The Whydah, a three-masted slave galley, was captured by pirates and manned by an unusual motley crew made up of former slaves, Indians, and sailors of humble origins. Each crew member was considered an equal and shared in the duties as well as the plunder; the “captain rules all” attitude was absent. The Sails of Whydah project took this name because, like the sundry pirate crew, the band is made up of a number of rebellious artists who are all involved in the song writing and recording process. We explore the world, united by the dream of freedom and liberation from the confines of an imperialist society. Band founder Tristan James is an artist signed to Proletariat Productions, Chicago’s socially conscious record label. He started this project with the goal of creating music made collaboratively with Chicago’s local community of artists and activists.

I am part of an production team that is currently working on our first album. We specialize in Hip-Hop synthesis sampling, but for our first album we are attempting to re-record all of our samples with live instruments instead of using midi instruments or samples in order to sidestep paying royalties to artists that we borrowed inspiration from. This is where you come in.
We are currently looking for a Pianist who can listen/learn/record the piano parts for four songs. None of the parts are very complex, but being able to play by ear is a plus as we do not have scores written for our music.
I would also like to point out that we are students, so we cannot offer top dollar for your services. If payment is a must, then we are open to discussing various options, but money is tight. I am looking for cast and crew. There is no pay to do the trailer, I need to get it made so that I can get financing.
Anyone that works with me in getting the Trailer made will be the first to get in on the production of the movie.

I just left a production in LA where I was cast in a minor role in a indy film with A-List Star. So I am trying to get this on the fast track and ready to go by the time, the other movie goes Theatrical. And I am working on getting the A-lister to take on the roll of the the Police Captain.

This is a winning script, That if it gets made right will go theatrical.
