07-14-11 – Dallas, TX>Austin, TX – 18-25 yrs
I am in the early stages of starting my project. I’ve already been working with a couple producers to put out a pretty legit EP here soon. To first narrow down the people considering this….my influences are pop rock such as (The Cab, The Maine, A Rocket To The Moon), electric pop (Breathe Electric), and other such pop/soul as Maroon 5, Bruno Mars. I love other artists such as Woe Is Me, Sleeping With Sirens, Jonny Craig, which you may not hear in my music, but as far as vocal style goes, its apparent. So saying this, all the bros should be gone. I hate all the trashy music i’ve been seeing in DFW, i know there’s gotta be good up to date musicians out there but then again this is . no thrash punk nonsense, no bro (nickelback and company), if you wear affliction shirts, get out. haha. sorry i just moved here from Colorado so i dont know many people and so I have to resort to to see what I can extract. of course most brilliant guitarists of my standard are already in a decent band, but i’m giving it a chance that maybe one just moved here or broke up with their band. With all that being said (im sure i offended some ppl, but thats good i offended the ppl i dont want). when it comes to gear, don’t respond if you’re using a big ol ugly pod pedalboard, more than one boss pedal, or have a bunch of distortion pedals. you should have a beautiful arrangement of quality pedals. so thats should narrow it down to the guitarists that are tone conscious. great! if you’ve made it this far and are saying to yourself “preach it brotha” then here’s where it gets good.
I’m paying for the whole EP production, so you don’t even have to drop a penny for that. However, my co-writing producer and I are writing and recording everything on the EP. But this is something that is essential to jumpstart the project. So i’m looking for someone that wants to learn the parts and become a member when I’m ready to launch the project which will be very soon hopefully. of course you’d be apart of the writing/recording process for any future songs and material. Another benefit is I already have some sick LED programmable lights that will be apart of our live show synced to backing tracks and everything! anyways this project has a lot of prospects for it, but for now the reason I’m only looking for a guitarist right now is i’d like to just be able to get comfortable and maybe go play some open mics to begin networking and whatnot ya know starting under the radar before I release the EP. obviously once the EP is released, Im gonna hit it hard on online promotion/networking. 06-04-11 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – Hello Craigslist! Two part post, so keep reading!

I am a recording artist/producer, and I have a couple projects in the works that need some female vocals on them. Both are duets, each one has a unique feel so I’m not sure if the same voice will work for both, but possibly. So I need to find a female vocalist to record.

Of course, being a starving artists, I can’t pay, but what I can do is record and produce one or two of your tracks (could even play some additional instruments if you’d like) in exchange for your doing some vocal takes for my projects. This could be a great way for a singer/songwriter to get some nice quality recordings to put online or on a CD or something, and for both of us to build our fan base through collaboration.

As for the type of vocals I’m looking for, I’m open to possibilities. While I can appreciate precise, trained vocals, I also put a lot of value in the character and personality portrayed in a voice.

The first song, ‘Apart’ has kind of an indie-folk, sound-collage-y, very dark melancholic feel to it. Think a little bit like The XX – Islands, but less electronic.

The second Song, “Take Me Back”, has sort of pop-blues feel and is very uptempo, sort has a similar energy to that song ‘Home’ by Edwin Sharp if it turns out how I’m hoping it will, with a very back and forth banter between the male and female vocals.

Anyhow, if you’re interested, send me an email, and let me know a bit about yourself, and include links or samples of your work if you have any. If I think your voice would fit either of these songs, I will send you what I have so far of the tracks and, we can figure out a time to spend a day recording! If not, maybe in some project down the line Oh my studio is on a farm about half an hour from the city, but if you haven’t got wheels we could arrange a ride, I would really like to get these recorded ASAP!

On of my music projects is looking for a dedicated female vocalist. This is a sort of Anti-folk’ish project that is a bit out there, with a bunch of fun, catchy songs that blend a lot of old-time and folk styles. We’d like to have everyone collaborate on songwriting as much as possible. For this project it’s definitely about character and personality over musical prowess. Would like to find someone who could do more than sing – but I mean that could be a lot of things – bongo/washboard/tamborine player? Fiddle? Bass? Puppet operator? Dedicated lights person? tap Dancer? I could keep rattling off things that would make this band more awesome… outfit designer? Typewriter percussion? Maybe a horn player? Choreographer?

It’s a really fun project, we meet every Tuesday in Kenton Park from 2-6, so it’s important you can make this at least most of the time if you’re interested. Other than that, we have fun in the recording studio when we can, play a show here or there, and busk now and then. We have some recordings we can send your way and we’ll let you know more about the band if you’re interested. We’re hoping to record and release something this Summer/Fall.
