01-17-12 – San Diego, CA>Los Angeles, CA – We are looking for a second vocalist. The one vocalist that we have already just screams (does a tiny bit of singing) but we are looking for a second guy (double front-man kind of shindig) to do more of the singing (a good amount of screaming too though). Vocal styles we are looking for vary… we are interested in anything from a Corey Taylor (Slipknot) type, to an M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) type, to a Rody Walker (Protest the Hero) type. The only thing we ask is that you not sound like The Devil Wears Prada (good band, just not what we are looking for) or any other generic metalcore singer.
Our music is relatively technical and shred-like but our main focuses are on rhythm and chord structures. Influences on our songwriting range from: Blotted Science, Slipknot, Periphery, Lamb of God, The Contortionist, We Came as Romans, Avenged Sevenfold, Poison the Well, August Burns Red, Protest the Hero, Texas in July, The Arusha Accord, Mushroom Head.
Our sound is semi-unique (unique but understandable) but not anything super obscure like The Dillinger Escape Plan or Mr. Bungle or anything like that. Not that those bands aren’t good, but just that we want our music to be accessible as well as playing stuff like Dillinger or Mr. Bungle requires a certain kind of mental preparation that might seem like more work than fun for us as a band. On the rhythm end of things… our music is fairly breakdown heavy. We make good use of syncopation and have the occasional poly-rhythmic set of beats. On the melody end of things… we only occasionally stay diatonic in our songs. We rely heavily on triads with an added sixth below the root, randomly placed major 7th chords, diminished fifths, and Neapolitan functions. We tune to drop D.
As long as you can get to practice and shows on time and contribute something valuable to the band, that is all we really care about. We practice at our drummers house in Menifee off of the Newport exit off of the 215. We practice on Fridays and usually one other arbitrarily selected day of the week.

09-28-11 – Atlanta, GA>Nashville, TN – Vocalist needed for a new project!!
We’re looking to start a malunk (metal/alternative/punk lol) band, by that I mean lots of shredding and riffing, with catchy choruses and some breakdowns.

We don’t have too much together right now, but we’ve both been in several bands and have both been playing a long time and very experienced and talented musicians.

We are in desperate need of a vocalist along the lines of Kris Roe of The Ataris, Tim McIlrath of Rise Against, or Rody Walker of Protest the Hero. If you can play guitar/bass and sing that’s even better but not at all mandatory, preferred age is around 20.

We currently have one guitarist and drummer, and we’re both extremely dedicated to music and hope to make a career of it so you must be prepared to work your ass off to break out of this local scene and make it big.

09-22-11 – Seattle, WA>Portland, OR – We are currently a 3-piece band with nearly a full album of material written already. Some powerful, passionate vocals are the main thing we’re missing. We are looking to add another guitarist eventually as well. I don’t think we’re set on a specific style of singing, but we want to have little, if any, screaming or growling despite how heavy the music is at times. Nothing too operatic either. Ideally we’d like a vocalist with previous band experience who has performed a fair amount and recorded albums. We have some lyrics written but it would be nice if you could also craft meaningful, poetic lyrics of your own as well.

We are all in our late 20s, have lots of experience writing, performing and recording with multiple bands and are very proficient at our instruments. Currently we practice twice a week on the east side (Kirkland or Bellevue). Our influences range from fairly mainstream acts like Muse and Incubus to more obscure and progressive bands like Meshuggah, Protest the Hero, Animals as Leaders, and Opeth. It’s hard to avoid at least a little grunge influence as well when you grow up in Seattle in the 90s.
