Synopsis: Permanent Ink is about a man who has lost everything in life; parents, wife, and friends. In his depressed state of mind, Benjamin tries to find within himself, his identity. By writing his name on a postcard he tries to define his name and his purpose in life. Unable to, he gives up and tosses the postcard aside. By some divine circumstance, another postcard floats by on the river which answers only what he needs to hear. The writings are from a deceased beautiful women who drowned in the river years ago.
