03-27-12 – Atlanta, GA>Birmingham, AL – We’re looking for a third player, somebody who plays upright bass (one of those goofy Dearmond things with the rubber strings would work, too, I suppose, assuming you can play it without getting creeped out), preferably, a girl who can sing some lonesome harmonies.
We practice after 8 on Sunday nights at a church (it’s after everybody clears out, so we have the place to ourselves, but I wanted to warn you in case churches are an issue for you). We’re not a “Christian band” (whatever that means); we’re just looking for somebody who’s reliable, barely to moderately talented, and who digs folk/old-time/bluegrass/etc, ala Nickel Creek, Vigilantes of Love, Woody Guthrie, Gillian Welch.
