We are The Collies, currently a two piece (guitar and bass) seeking a drummer.

We are not an established band, and are pretty much starting at the beginning, but would like to be ready to play lots of shows in the summer.

Our sound has not been set in stone, but we have some of our ideas here
We love the 60′s sound, yet not all of it coming from the 60s. The La’s, The Stone Roses, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Dandy Warhols, Helio Sequence, Oasis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones.

Perhaps the style is ready for another go around. Personally, I really like that Mod look too. Not going overboard with suits and everything, but inspired by them style and attitude-wise.

Right now, the guitar player (myself) is in the singer role as well, but that can be changed too. I enjoy writing a tune, but if we were to find a frontman (a true Ian Brown, Liam Gallagher, Mick Jagger, etc) I would totally step away from the mic.

Since this is potentially a 3-piece, I think the drums could have a really key role. Im fine with just keeping the beat going, but for example, Benjamin Weikel from the Helio Sequence writes such good drum parts, that it is totally necessary for that band’s sound. Im not saying you have to be a pro, but your role is not yet written you know? Its whatever you feel comfortable doing. It could be straight forward drumming like The La’s, which I think is perfect.
Since it is my dream for us to be a successful band, and play together for a long time, and have lots of fun and experiences together, please be around our age, 21. 18 to what, 26 maybe?

12-15-11 – Boston, MA>Hartford, CT – I’m a guitarist who is looking to do some small venues. I mostly played metal and rock, but my amp broke down and I’ve been doing strictly acoustic stuff, still, I’d like some musicians to play with who are interested in playing some acoustic material and writing original songs.
