01-23-12 – Dallas, TX>Houston, TX – My name is Chase Bishop and I am a 23 year old piano player that is looking for musicians to achieve the goal of starting a group. I want to head in the general direction of a rock band.

The exact type of rock band, I feel, can’t be decided until we start writing and playing music together and seeing what sound and/or style is born. But, generally I am looking for guitarists, drummers, bass players etc. However, a violinist and/or cellist would be awesome but, hard to find in this area.

In any case, any musician is welcome as long as he/she fits in with any of the other musicians and the style. For example, a slide whistle may not be a good fit. Haha! All that I ask is that you; be at least 21 years of age, work well with others, be serious about this project and put time and effort into the music.

There is no problem with having fun but, dedication and having your heart in the music is important and can be very extraordinary and rewarding, as well as, productive. My main focus with finding musicians is functionality. Be able to collaborate and play together is very important. Otherwise, we will start to fall apart and the music will suffer.

As for me, I am a self-taught piano player. I realize I do have a lot to learn still but, not a total novice. I started playing the piano about 4 years ago. Started out learning covers of my favorite songs and noticed that I was learning quite fast for a beginner. So, after I got my hands in shape and had a little bit of knowledge under my belt, I started writing my own music.

I started gaining the interest of others and in the first quarter of last year I was invited to play at two different events. One was the Northeast Texas Community College’s Student Awards Banquet and the other was as a special guest to the Project TAG Red & White Ball in Tyler, TX. I have worked with other musicians before on small projects, some of which were my own compositions. Now, I currently have around 18 songs in my binder at home.

Some are completed piano instrumentals that may need slight adjustments. Others are still in the production stages. However, none of them have lyrics.

If you feel like you would be interested in working on this project, please contact me with a little information about yourself and we will proceed from there. If you would like to sample a small piece of my work, I can direct you to my musicians page on Facebook and to my YouTube channel. Hope to hear from you soon. Cheers!
(Do not own the pictured piano…but will one day!)
