11-08-11 – Miami, FL>Orlando, FL – Busy production company looking to add to its roster of freelance videographers who are interested in (and capable of) shooting a variety of youth and high school sports. Those hired will be part of a rotation who will be asked to cover local football & lacrosse (mostly) but also soccer and other events. Those who prove dependable may see more work and other opportunities in the company. Most games are in the evening or on weekends, so this is a great opportunity to earn some extra income, even if you have another day job.
To be considered, you MUST own your own prosumer or similar video camera – preferably one that shoots to Mini-DV, as it is easiest for you to deliver – and QUALITY tripod. We will provide tape stock. Rain gear or other protection in the event of bad weather is also needed. You must also have dependable transportation and be someone who by nature is extremely prompt. Because most of the games are in Palm Beach county, we prefer someone who is located in that area to minimize travel times to a game.
Experience with shooting sports is preferred. This job requires a knowledge of sports as well as an ability to follow fast action with a smooth hand. You may be asked to shoot a game with someone on our staff as a “training” or as your trial run.
Please do NOT send a resume. If you do, you will already be showing that you can’t follow directions and we will not consider you. We just need to know that you have the right equipment, a skill in shooting, and are reliable. We’re looking for people who can be part of a team for consistent freelance work for a good amount of time. The pay rate may increase as you do more work for us. We look forward to hearing from you.
