What I’m looking for is a good rhythm section to play with that listens and is pretty versatile. Starting with mostly covers, then working towards originals that we write and finish as a band.

My influences are very varied, from jazz to straight rock, and I enjoy playing pretty much everything. I’d like a band that’s based more in a British Blues/Rock type music.

The nice a riffy stuff like Free, Cream, The Jeff Beck Group, Joe Bonamassa, and Gov’t Mule. Obviously I’m open to everything, that’s just a genre I identify with well.

02-01-11 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – Blackburn just lost it’s bass player. We’re not sure how, but think it had something to do with not activating the child safety lock on the car door. Whatever the reason, we’ll miss you, Ray!

So, now that we’ve gotten rid of Ray… er, we mean “lost” Ray, we need a new bass player. You need to be able to keep time with the drummer and can hear the chord progressions in the tunes we create. Not looking for a blues or jazz player. Just straight rock.

We are constantly coming up with new music, are gearing up to record our second album, have a new set list for 2011, are actively setting up live gigs, and are heading up a compilation CD with other local independent rock bands. We’re not looking for someone to dump a lot of time into the promotion of the band or creation of new material, but you need to be able to meet once a week for rehearsal (twice a week for two weeks before a gig), be able to record for the CD, be comfortable performing live, and bake a mean chocolate chip cookie. The last requirement is actually less of a requirement and more of a guideline, but we all know you ain’t bass unless you’z bakin’ cookies.

Rehearsals are at Lindsay Music Studios in Port Coquitlam, off the Mary Hill Bypass. Usually costs about $10 each member per rehearsal. Up until now, our weekly rehearsals have landed on a Wednesday, from 7:30 pm until 10:00 pm. Aaaaaaaaaand, that’s that. Oh, we’re also in our early to mid-30′s and would like to find someone in our age range (younger is fine. Ray was 25).
