02-11-12 – Philadelphia, PA>New York City, NY – Southern, Blues & Classic Rock Band looking for a solid drummer. Cover artists like Skynyrd, Allman Bro., Molly Hatchet, Clapton, ZZ Top, SRV and others of those styles.

We have two very talented lead guitars, bass and a lead singer with a passion for this style of music. Ready to start booking gigs then drummer had to back out.

So we’re looking for a quick learner, someone who is able to commit to once a week practices (usually Wed or Thurs) and be available for gigs.

Yes we want talent and timing, but no egos… we’re all team players here with decades of playing. We all have jobs, families (ages late 30′s to early 50′s)… but we’re all committed to what we’re doing, and so should you be.

We just wanna play some music and have fun and preferably make some money in the process. That said, the right talented drummer can put us right back on track to a fun and busy summer. We have practice space in Fairless Hills PA, so you should be willing to travel there for practices.

ABOUT THE PLAY

In a black-and-white world of shadows and streetlights, hardboiled detective Stone is framed for murder. This is the story mystery novelist Stine is adapting into a screenplay but an egotistical producer-director constantly demands rewrites. The stress overwhelms Stine and the fictional Stone steps out of the “reel” world to confront the author. A Tony-Award winner for best musical, book and score.

The Story: City of Angels is the rarest of musical comedies: intricate lyrics filled with puns and crackling rhymes, sizzling music written in the contemporary jazz idiom, and a script that couples sidesplitting comedy with neo-noir intensity. Set in the glamorous, seductive Hollywood of the 40s, the world of film studios and flimsy negligees, the show chronicles the misadventures of Stine, a novelist attempting for the first time to adapt one of his texts to the screen at the behest of movie producer/director, Buddy Fidler. The “script” features Stine’s hardboiled hero, a private investigator named Stone. The show follows Stine’s screenplay (the “reel” world where he manipulates projected versions of the various women in his life) as well as his “real” world adventures in love and business, culminating in a collision of two worlds.
