Mrs. Warrens Profession-RidgefieldCT – 1063478

08-26-11 – New York City, NY>Hartford, CT – Auditions for Mrs. Warren’s Profession

Performances: Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm from November 18th through December 10th, 2011 with Sunday matinees November 27th and December 4th at 2 pm.
Synopsis

When George Bernard Shaw completed Mrs. Warren’s Profession in 1893, the critics and public were outraged by its content, and the show was immediately censored and banned. At its 1905 New York premiere, the play’s cast was summarily tossed into jail. Subsequently, the play didn’t see the light of day for another two decades.
Thankfully, Ridgefield Theater Barn’s production of Shaw’s timeless and controversial comedy-drama will be less likely to draw the police but just as likely to draw in the crowds for its frequently funny and at times confrontational view on the corruption and hypocrisy of society.

Young, Cambridge-educated Vivie Warren may be financially independent and live in considerable comfort, but it’s her independent spirit and joie de vivre that drive her to want to be a success in her own right. That sumptuous comfort is provided courtesy of her distant mother, Kitty, a rags-to-riches success in a secretive business who travels the world and has seen little of her daughter. When Mrs. Warren arrives for an infrequent visit and announces plans to renew her relationship with her daughter, Vivie uncovers more than she bargained for. One revelation after another creates twists and turns that upset the daily decorum of life for the highly principled and unsentimental Vivie. A supporting cast of scoundrels and scallywags provide the sparks that climax in a series of spectacular familial fireworks. — Submit Yourself To This Role Now: Live Event

05-13-11 – Portland, OR>Seattle, WA – The Unexpected Guest looking for actors.

The script is a red herring run with more silly twists and turns than sense. The preposterous beginning in which the helpful stranger and the new widow engage in a long discussion of what to do about a murder, in the presence of the corpse, begs credulity. Then virtually every character except the police is implicated as the murderer.

Monologue no longer than 3 minutes and possible cold read
British accent is desirable but not required

Drummer Needed-San Francisco CA – 927069

02-28-11 – San Francisco, CA>Reno, NV – We are looking for a drummer. Been around for a few years, but the lineup has changed and the sound has matured recently, and we’re ready to take this to the next level.
Musical style’s a bit hard to describe, but seems to draw a lot from the Bowie, Eno, Krautrock, Doors, Nick Cave—traditional song structures, lyrical melodies, intertwined with some interesting twists and turns.
If this sounds legit to you, please get in touch. We’re a serious group of musicians who all have bunches of experience performing live, recording, etc., and we intend to keep at it. So we’re looking for someone serious as well, preferably interested in doing some touring should the opportunity arise. — Submit Yourself To This Role Now: 1
