03-07-12 – Los Angeles, CA>San Diego, CA – Hey… I’m looking for a lead guitar player who can add some sweet layers and solos over folk/rock/country songs. Prefer someone pretty versatile and comfortable on acoustic, electric, and hopefully some pedal/lap steel and using effects too. Please be young (mid 20s), a cool person to hang out with, dedicated, and extremely talented.
I write, play guitar, and sing. Before putting together my own music, I played drums in a pretty well established indie/folk/americana band out of Silverlake so I have some contacts throughout LA. I have an awesome bass player and fiddle player collaborating on some of the songs, but in the last few months I have been playing my own solo sets. I would like to be able to perform as a duo which would add just enough to fill out the sound, and expand to full band for bigger shows and recording.
As for the tunes, think along the lines of James Taylor, Johnny Cash, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Crosby Stills and Nash, Neil Young, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes and a bunch more I haven’t listed. I am influenced by and listen to a lot of different music from all eras.
