12-24-11 – Detroit, MI>Cleveland, OH – Hello there………. Umoja Reggae Band is in search of a female vocalist who is comfortable singing lead on some songs and helping with backing vocals too. We had one singer who ended up not working out because of commitment issues. We expect that you have a soulful voice, you have an ear for harmonies, and that you care enough about playing in a band to show up to rehearsal on a regular basis. All of that being said, since you would not be the full time lead vocalist it would be fine from time to time if you could not make a rehearsal, but we are all busy guys who have work, school, family, etc. and make the time to get together once a week and we expect anyone who would join the group to be willing to put forth the same commitment.

ALSO: We would like to add a female choir with roughly 3-4 female vocalists rounding out the female backing choir. Of course the women in the choir would have to be able to harmonize and balance with each other. Please have a lot of vocal experience as we do not want to have to take time to teach people. The female lead vocalist would be part of this choir but we will expect more from the female lead in regards to showing up to rehearsals. I think the other 2-3 women would only need to show up every other rehearsal.
