06-25-11 – Dallas, TX>Austin, TX – Hello,
I am looking for a creative/technical vocalist, female or male, between the ages of 21-34. The style of music is a sort of folk/indy/metal hybrid, perhaps like hard-folk would be a good name, I am not entirely sure. This is an early stages pet project of mine that I finally want to see the light. I have a good amount of song material prepared, nearly all of it in demo/mp3 form. Sadly, I do not have the vocal chops to carry the tune. That being said, I sing on the recordings to give an idea of how the vocal melody interacts with the lyrics and how it fits over the music. I know I shouldn’t be allowed near a mic, but it is a necessary evil. The type of singer I am looking for should be; creative enough to help me devise and arrange vocal melodies/harmonies, have an interesting voice and appearance and must be easy to get along with.
The lyrics are mostly written from the male perspective, but I would happily entertain a female vocalist (indeed I could switch the gender orientations in the lyrics, not a big deal). Many of the songs would sound great with a higher pitched vocal tone, similar to mine, but hopefully better in every conceivable way.
I do not discriminate race, and would love to see the songs sung from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. If I had my druthers, my preference would be to choose a female Asian singer. I am, although, willing to consider any voice that fits the music, tone and theme of the project.

04-01-11 – Atlanta, GA>Columbia, SC – Title says it all. I just wrote a song or two that I think would sound better with a raspy low rock voice, rather than my soulful style vocals. If you listen to the vocals at the beginning of the song “The Unknown” by Crossfade, you’ll get an idea of the kind of vocal tone and range i’m looking for. I don’t have anything professional as far as recording devices go. It’s just me, my computer, my keyboard, and whoever else i may bring in to play guitar. All this is done in a tiny room in my trailor i live in. If you want, I can send you some work i’ve done so you can hear the quality. It’s not the best but it’s good considering what i’m working with. Any way, if you’re interested, just email me. Put SINGER as the title of the email so i can avoid spam. Sunday’s probably the only day out of the week i’ll be available to do any recording though.
By the way, a little info about me. I’m 27yrs old, 6’1ft, 280lbs, blk guy that has an eclectic taste in music. I have a few musical ideas of my own and I try and record and bring them to life the best I can with what little I have to work with. I have decent vocal ability, and ok piano/keyboard skills but I could certainly use more work and improvement.
